   “We wanted the house to be contemporary yet historical.  This criteria called for both formal and informal areas for entertaining and family activities.  A combination of eclectic inspirations determined the overall style of the home.  A major influence to the design came from Florence, Italy and the Ionic columns are a tribute to Ione.  Our family, having grown up in the South, also wanted the traditional Southern Architecture to have influence in their Colorado home.”

   “Remember that syrupy Brady Bunch theme song…”Here’s the story…”?  Well, move over Brady family the Bollar/Goss family gives a whole new meaning to the term “blended family.”  Some call it multi-generational living, but for Chuck and Ione Bollar, their daughter Enne and her husband Bob Goss, and their three children, they just call it home.  All seven of them live under one roof, comfortably and by design.  While this family’s lifestyle may raise eyebrows in this post-modern era, together they make a family—uniquely blended and surprisingly normal.

 

   Nestled in the foothills north of Colorado Springs, their 7,200 square-foot custom built home is a place where old meets new, where age meets youth, and old fashioned values blend with new-fangled ideas.  Their home boasts a harmony of contemporary décor and time-honored antiques.  It’s a place where classic architecture blends into Rocky Mountain terrain and where Southern hospitality mingles with Colorado comfort.”
